Electronics Yorkshire's Training Centre has a range of courses geared specifically to support industry growth and development, including IPC training, the recognised international Standard for our industry. The following courses are currently being offered.

Advanced Surface Mount Technology Reworking
Course objective: To provide each candidate with practical skills required in the reworking of complex surface-mounted devices (many legs or pads) using a number of techniques for board preparation and soldering with solder and solder paste.

Ball Grid Array and Chip Scale Package Reworking
Course objectives: To provide each candidate with the complex skills involved in the placement and inspection of BGA and CSP devices.

Cable Loom Assembly
Course objective:To provide each candidate with skills and knowledge to prepare cables for use in cable loom and harness assemblies.

Design for Manufacture with IPC Standards
Course objective: To understand that using IPC standards will improve Awareness, Quality and Profitability.

Industrial Standard Soldering
Course objective: To provide each candidate with the knowledge and skill to carry out hand-soldering processes, and to recognise and rework any faults relating to the basic assembly soldering process.

Introduction to Electronics - for non-technical staff
A six hour course to introduce non technical staff to electronics.

IPC 600G Acceptability of Printed Boards - Application Specialist
This standard is concerned with the manufacture of bare printed circuit boards to ensure that boards conform to laminate integrity, layer to layer spacing, annular ring requirements, etching characteristics, pattern definition and plating.

IPC 600G Acceptability of Printed Boards - Certified Trainer
This standard is concerned with the manufacture of a bare printed circuit boards to ensure that boards conform to laminate integrity, layer to layer spacing, annular ring requirements, etching characteristics, pattern definition and plating.

IPC 7711A/7721A Rework/Repair/Modification - Application Specialist
Course objective: To provide hands on instruction and training on specific modules in the IPC rework, repair and modification Standard. The course gives a global IPC certification for two years.

IPC 7711A/7721A Rework/Repair/Modification - Certified Trainer
Course objective: To provide training of trainers on the IPC Standard with a hands-on approach and instructional protocols. The course gives a global IPC certification for two years.
