Electronics Courses
Lead-free soldering
Staff in electronic production organisations will now be experiencing changes
in working practice as a result of WEEE and RoHS legislation. This e-learning
module gives an introduction to the key issues relating to lead-free soldering.
ESD Awareness
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a major cause of damage to electronic
components. This e-learning module gives a basic explanation of what ESD is,
and what steps can be taken to eliminate the risks it poses.
Advanced Surface Mount Techniques (ASMT)
People whose job it is to rework and repair PCBs need more than a basic
knowledge of how to handle surface mount components. This ASMT module will
complement the wide range of hands-on Electronics Yorkshire courses on offer.
Generic Courses
An Introduction to Managing Health and Safety
Having completed this course, you will be able to create and manage a
successful health and safety regime by: developing a policy and a compatible
health and safety culture; assessing and dealing with risk; monitoring and
evaluating health and safety performance.
Avoiding Slips, Trips and Falls
Having completed this course, you will be able to make your workplace safer by:
Identifying slip and trip risks, and alerting your employer and/or colleagues,
where appropriate; Initiating action to prevent slips, trips and falls.
Moving and Handling Objects
This module provides learners with the knowledge they need in order to reduce
the chance of incurring an injury whilst performing day-to-day tasks in their
work environment.
Risk Assessment for Managers
Having completed this course you will be able to conduct health and safety risk
assessments, and record the process and outcomes, in a manner acceptable to the
health and safety enforcement authorities.
Safe Manual Handling
Having completed this course you should be able to adopt the attitudes,
procedures and techniques necessary to safely lift and handle loads of all
types.
VDU and Workstations Health and Safety
Having completed this course you should be able to avoid hazards to health and
safety created by the use of personal and laptop computers and the organisation
of your immediate working environment.
5S
The course provides learners with a comprehensive, basic knowledge of 5S - the
Japanese management productivity tool.
Fire Safety
Do you comply with the new regulations? The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety)
Order 2005 which came into force in Oct 06 requires staff to receive
appropriate fire training / instruction. You must provide appropriate
information, instruction and training to your employees, during their normal
working hours, about the fire precautions in your workplace, when they start
working for you, and from time to time throughout the period they work for you.
