How Electronics Yorkshire helped Electroparts Ltd

Carol Swallow, Managing Director of Electroparts Ltd, describes how Electronics Yorkshire enabled Electroparts Ltd to meet its future training needs:

‘At Electroparts Ltd, each member of staff is independently assessed to IPC standards on a regular basis through the use of Electronics Yorkshire’s up-skilling services, along with their specialist technical skills training. These services have been vital in our programme designed to continually improve quality and competence levels in response to the needs of modern industry.

‘In 2003, Electronics Yorkshire provided key training to the new IPC/WHMA-A-620 Cable Assembly Standard. Our IPC-accredited in-house trainer now uses the standard to train and monitor new recruits to the company, whilst experienced staff capabilities are assessed as part of a monthly programme, allowing us to judge competencies against a world-class standard.

‘The facilities of Electronics Yorkshire have allowed us to train our people on new techniques and equipment, ensuring we are ready to respond to the ever-changing requirements of our customers, and providing the company with quality information to target our investment in equipment and resources.

‘Specialist courses they conducted have helped us enhance the technical knowledge of our staff, and develop new skills to broaden the all-round service we already offer to our customers.

‘Electroparts Ltd is firmly committed to investment in its people, targeted on true customer focus. Electronics Yorkshire has played a vital part in allowing us to plan for growth, providing us with support previously unavailable to small companies like ourselves.’
