How Electronics Yorkshire helped Reliance Precision Ltd :2

A company that has recently benefited from having operators trained to IPC standards by Electronics Yorkshire is Reliance Precision Ltd, based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Established for nearly 100 years, the company is a unique high integrity, integrated mechatronics company supplying precise motion control solutions to the aerospace, defence, medical, scientific and high vacuum industries.

Reliance Precision was keen to demonstrate to its new and existing customers that the company works to an internationally-recognised standard. Tutors from Electronics Yorkshire delivered two distinct Application Specialist training courses on site to staff from Reliance Precision: the IPC A-610D Electronics Assembly course, which focused on the industry-accepted workmanship criteria for electronics assemblies, and the IPC/WHMA A-620 Cable and Wire Harness course, which provided members of staff with detailed knowledge of the preparation and handling of cable assemblies.

Mick Hallam, training officer at Reliance Precision explained: ‘Electronics Yorkshire delivers high value training which has been key for us in continuing to maintain the highest standards in our manufacturing processes and procedures. Continued training of this type is a core part of working successfully in the aerospace industry.’
In an increasingly competitive global market having staff trained to the IPC standard has become a vital aspect for many electronics companies manufacturing components and products for use in the aerospace industry. IPC standards are now being viewed as benchmarks by which a company is judged.
