A workshop highlighting UK innovation and capability within the energy sector. The event will have a particular focus on oil and gas, nuclear and renewable energy.

Yorkshire Gold Business Club (YGBC) and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), with the support of an array of partners, are hosting a series of events throughout the region that will take place in and around London 2012 Games time.

The sector events will coincide with the Global Business Summit that will be taking place at Lancaster House in London. The events will include exclusive content from this high profile Summit whilst incorporating a regional element. The regional workshops will highlight creativity and innovation, encourage the sharing of best practice and ideas and educate companies on trading internationally in their specialist sector.

Speakers confirmed so far include:

•           Humber Chemical Focus - Dr Glyn Hughes, Chief Executive

•           CO2 Sense - Dr Stephen Brown, Director

Whilst incorporating footage from the lectures held at Lancaster House on Tuesday 7th August, the event will also have a regional focus, specifically recognising opportunities within Yorkshire and Humber.

The workshop will echo themes of the Summit in London where the opportunities and challenges faced by the Government and industry in delivering safe, secure, sustainable and smarter energy ‘ecosystems' will be explored.
