BioDigital Ltd is an innovative electronics design company providing a full design and facilitation service that enables companies with ideas to get from proposal to product with the minimum of stress. Our client portfolio ranges from one man with an intriguing idea through to large established companies with many well known retail products.
Since its inception in 2003, BioDigital has grown annually through repeat business from existing customers and their recommendations to others, as well as the generation of new business, including tendering through Electronics Yorkshire’s member services.
Amongst recent projects BioDigital was commissioned by Kypai to design a four channel industrial LED driver controlled via an industry-standard DMX protocol. Through careful planning we were able to design a common platform capable of driving at either 350mA or 700mA per channel using just a small change in the bill of material.
We have also designed an industrial pressure transducer with USB connectivity for Hamersham. The device had to be low-cost and simple in construction, yet tough, accurate and fast.
BioDigital often works with new start-up companies to develop their flagship products. Amongst these projects we have designed a product for Olivian that responds to triggered events and conditions so as to play pre-recorded health and safety audio messages. The system had to be easily configured by the fledgling company without requiring continuous technical support from us, yet it had to be flexible enough to cope with, then, unknown configurations.
Our customers are spread right across the UK and, as such, we recently designed a stylish and compact solution for London-based company, KenBuster. BioDigital developed the prototype and manufactured the pre-production batch with great success, even though we never met the customer face to face
As a member of Electronics Yorkshire we often access the Tenders area of its web site and, as a result, have successfully tendered for several projects, many of which we now manufacture. One such product, for Torchcross Scientific is a pressure monitor/logger and SMS alarm system used in clearing hazardous building material and ensuring clean room facilities. For this project, as with all of our work, wherever possible we use local companies to supply the parts.
Not all of the projects we have undertaken have been of a commercial nature. Throughout our development we have been involved in creating one-off interactive museum displays, advertising proof-of-concepts and even strange explorations into mental perception for interesting projects such as ones featured in design magazine dezeen.
With a successful portfolio behind us, BioDigital is now also able to offer a product manufacturing service in which we procure all parts, handle the logistics of manufacture and deliver the finished product, enabling clients to continue to focus on their own areas of expertise.
