Electronics Yorkshire's IPC-certificated Training Centre has a range of courses geared
specifically to support industry growth and development.
The Training Centre has established an enviable reputation with electronics
businesses not only throughout the region but also right across the country.
It is respected by major national electronics operations as a key resource
for the industry.
Electronics Yorkshire is the only IPC-certificated centre in UK offering five complete programmes at two levels: the Certified IPC Trainer level empowers instructors to train staff to work to the specified quality standards; the Application Specialist level is for practitioners – such as quality staff line leaders, operational managers, assembly operators and design engineers.
IPC is an International organisation formed from major industrial companies including Boeing, NASA, Hewlett Packard, Raytheon, BAE Systems and Nokia. These companies have recognised the need to ensure that sub-contractors’ quality is maintained at an appropriate worldwide level of standard classification.
The staff development programmes offered by Electronics Yorkshire cover Soldering, Product Assembly, Cable and Wire Harness Assembly, Rework of Electronic Assemblies and Repair and Modification of Boards and Assemblies and PCB Manufacture and Acceptability. Electronics Yorkshire’s Industry Standard Soldering courses also conform to IPC J-Standard and provide students with knowledge and skills to competently carry out hand soldering.
